I should be picking up my Pixie Dust draft again and trying to Complicate The Hell Out Of My Plot, in proper mystery fashion.
Instead I’m considering tossing out my two fantasy drafts (To Forge A Queen and Dark Lord’s Daughters) entirely, and redoing the world from scratch so that I can write them AGAIN in a world that sucks less. Keep in mind that DLD is in it’s third draft and I’ve already invested a lot of time and tears into it.
…really, I think I’m afraid of taking a draft past the “half-way towards being decent” stage because if I do that, then I no longer have an excuse for sucking.
