how to be a writer
- start to write something
- pause and read over what you have so far
- cringe
- backspace everything
- exit out of your computer
- cry on the floor
This is why you don’t read anything you’ve written until you’re completely finished writing. But then steps 3-6 apply.
This is, for the record, why I only have one thing published and my other five complete novels are in varying stages of “editing”.
